After looking at accounting firms, I engaged Ingrid at GENFOCUS to help me with the negotiations and valuation when I was buying into the business partnership. I needed answers, “Was I getting value for money in the buy-in? Was it an appropriate, fair and reasonable price?”
Ingrid helped with the negotiation, which ultimately gave me a greater sense of safety and security and I knew it was calculated risk.
I continue to use GENFOCUS as it’s much more of a holistic service than, say, tax. When things happen in business that make me take a step back, the first person I call is Ingrid. She lays out the process and gives me confidence in the steps that she’s outlining. She guides me and regularly checks in on how I feel about things. She stays highly objective and pragmatic (positively realistic). She’s good at reading the risks that I’m happy to take, and I know she has my back.
All in all, GENFOCUS is an invaluable internal advisory board that has helped me sustainably grow the business. Ingrid is part of not only my business financials but my life financials, too. Her guidance and advice have touched all parts of them – not many other accountants would even consider this.
She’s helped structure personal finances and impacted personal goals, blending the business with the personal. Is the business sustainable? But, also is our life sustainable (with everything that often goes into the business)? Sometimes, it’s just a conversation, and whether it’s a big or small conversation/piece of advice/action, it’s personal.
